Over the years, we have received requests from parents of Student-Athletes and Non-Athlete Students (in and out Africa) who acknowledge that they do not fit the criteria of Interrecruit Foundation’s Traditional Beneficiaries (Interrecruit Benefits).
This has been an issue for a while but we have navigated through offering these services anyways to recommending agencies and colleagues. Which seem all too expensive as most of these parents circle back. (We have never charged a fee)
We do our best to satisfy all students but the backlog of requests are increasing as our funds keep reducing and our small administrative team of one (1) has become inadequate and inefficient over the decade. Leaving so many students still confused; goals unrealized and attention drawn away from the first half of our mission (nurturing young talents).
For a brief moment we determined that terminating Interrecruit Foundation operations was the only option; although a huge let down to our mission and to the numerous student-athletes in Africa, especially the West-Africa sub region.
However, we simply can not crumble under the pressures and demands of this 10 year old foundation.
So we created THE SOLUTION… to serve students outside our mission while making sure that we maintain our capacity to serve our foundation and others throughout their college life.
This is not only for Interrecruit Foundation or Africa…
Every month, Interrecruit Study Abroad will host polls (through Interrecruit Foundation) for its users to either vote for the country of a beneficiary or to choose where funds are allocated within the foundation’s mission and the foundation will step up to allocate funds accordingly or will assist one recipient from that country to fulfil their dreams of studying abroad. A small percentage of your one-time service charge (0.05%) goes into this aid and there are no tax-deductions available for this offer.
Interrecruit Study Abroad will pay a small percentage of your one-time service charge (0.1%) to the Interrecruit Foundation. Electronic receipts for this and any other future donations will be logged into the Foundation’s database and sent to your email. This way, you can apply for tax-deductions only in the U.S as Interrecruit Foundation is 501c3 registered under the IRS. This offer expires in the 6 years after you pay your service charge – meaning that you will have a two-year period after graduation to use up this benefit. Subsequently, you get to vote on where the Foundation allocates its funds and the country from which a beneficiary will receive aid.
The foundation will now focus on its core mission and is going to double down on efforts to nurture young African talents to go professional in the sports of their choice or to access affordable education through scholarships!
Interrecruit foundation holds the right to select students for Interrecruit benefits or to give or deny Interrecruit benefits to applicants who request. An interview is required to qualify for Interrecruit benefits.Â
